Holiday Gift Tags with Cricut

Holiday Gift Tags Made with Cricut!! | this heart of mine

I have had these holiday gift tags on my mind from almost the beginning of this Cricut Design Space Star challenge. I love simple, bold text and thought combining text and gift tags would be perfect. I am still enthralled with the intricacies the Cricut Explore is capable of. As a user of the Cricut brand through many machine versions, this one is by far my favorite. I smile with glee every time something I envision comes to life.

Supplies:

-paper
-simple text
-Cricut Explore

I followed the directions from this video on how to upload images to the Cricut Design Space. Sometimes technology stresses me out so I beg help from others but the Cricut image process is so simple, especially with the JPGs I created. I made my text images only black and white so separating the parts was really easy.

I removed everything, down to just the outlines of the text. I did use the eraser to remove some border outlines too.

After saving the paired-down text, I used a gift tag from the Cricut image collection (any gift tag shape work!). To make it so the Cricut Explore cuts the text from the gift tag shape, follow these steps:

1. After sizing the tag and placing the text, make both the same color.
2. Highlight both the tag and text in the Layers box and group them together.
3. Once grouped together, attach the text to the gift tag.
4. Proceed with sizing the gift tags as you wish and then proceed with cutting.

From there, make as many gift tags as you desire! I’m really excited to wrap gifts this year. Merry merry!!
