Sidewalk Chalk Paint

The weather has been absolutely beautiful this week and we’ve taken full advantage. Bikes, beaches, parks, bubbles, ball sports and running around crazy-like just because we could without getting heat stroke. We’ve been busy but it’s fabulous.

My favorite activity of the week is this:

Covering the driveway in Sidewalk Chalk Paint.

You’ve probably seen it other places on the web, I know it’s been on my list for a while, but it really is loads of fun. Seriously. I don’t know who had a better time, me or Love Bug. (Sweet J looked on longingly.)

It’s quick and easy and once you run out, you can just make another batch.

I really enjoyed the color mixing. Endless possibilities of bright, bold hues. That Chartreuse green was my favorite.

Just in case you don’t have the info yet, here is the recipe.

Sidewalk Chalk Paint
I found it on The Idea Blog

1/4 cup cornstarch
1/4 water
6-8 drops of food coloring

*The recipe is a simple 1-1 ratio mix, so make it to your needs. To fill each muffin cup, I used 2 Tbsp water with 2 Tbsp cornstarch, added a few drops of color and it worked great.

There are warnings that the color could stain concrete so proceed at your own risk.

Take care.
