A Year in Review – 2012

Happy 2013!! We are getting back to our regular life schedule today. I’m trying not to be too sad, we had a good holiday and I loved being all together for a stretch. I could have done without the cold I’m still dealing with but other than that, we had a good break.

Like last year, I’ve chosen a few highlights from the year and listed them below. 2012 was a good year filled with terrific growth for me personally and for this blog. It was very enjoyable to look back at all that happened. Even if you are totally over 2012, would you mind scrolling down for the survey link below? I’d really like to get to know you better!

Early in the year, MJ and I celebrated our entrance in a new decade of life with a joint 30th birthday party. I really enjoyed putting it all together though celebrating with our friends was the best part.

30th Birthday Party

Delia had a lovely Nesting series as she waited for her darling daughter to be born. Because of Sweet J’s cankles, I created my first pattern for fleece booties. Loved making them and I’m pretty proud of them. Of course, the little guy outgrew them too quickly. :)

About midway through the year, we rearranged the layout of our house to make it work better for us. I wrote very personal post (for me anyway) on the housing challenges we’ve are facing. Your responses were so kind and made me feel just wonderful. I’m happy to report we love the new layout (especially the play room part!) and MJ and I finished the painting in the basement over the break. Can’t wait to share the finished photos with you.

And then we had some delicious holiday fun with Homemade for the Holidays. I haven’t quite got the round-up done with that yet but it’s coming soon.

This year, I started a new, fantastic gig – creating and editing with Design Mom. I have had all kinds of joy working in a new venue with new people and I’ve learned so much. You can check the posts here. So thankful!!

Year End - DM

I joined Twitter this year – @thisheartomine – and Instagram – @amy_thisheartofmine – the latter of which I love. I love visually seeing what family and friends are up to. Such beauty and inspiration to be had.

One last thing:

I would LOVE it if you could follow this link and fill out a survey for me. It will help me get to know you all a little better. Thank you so much!! I really really appreciate it.

Thank you for making 2012 so great. 2013 is shaping up to be even better and I can’t wait to share the goodness with you.

Happy happy new year!

Take care.

  1. What an incredible year you had! I hope that I have half as much to show off in 2013 as you did in 2012. I tried to leave a comment yesterday wishing you a happy birthday but Captcha kept telling me I was a spambot. Either I should be really offended or incredibly flattered that the computer thinks I have robot-speed typing abilities. Anyway, hope your celebration was great. Can’t wait to follow you throughout 2013. (Sent you a separate email too!)
