If you follow me on Instagram, you’ve probably noticed the craziness happening in our life right now. This month’s mayhem started with Pipsqueak’s birth (which I had hoped would happen much earlier), included surgery for Sweet J to remove his tonsils and adnoids as well as insert ear tubes and culminates with us moving from our house which sold back in January to a rental (something we found just last week) while we continue to look for a permanent residence. “It’s all a bit overwhelming”, stated Caption Obvious.

This isn’t the timeline we wanted or hoped for but life is what it is and we’re getting through it. I have two things I keep repeating to myself. One is “I can do hard things”. In all honesty, I didn’t want to do any of the things we’ve done so far. Labor isn’t (and wasn’t) a cake walk, caring for a child through surgery, even one as routine as Sweet J’s, is heart-wrenching and emotionally draining and moving…..the worst. But I’ve continued my chant – I can do hard things….I can do hard things….I can do hard things – to get me through. My other mantra is “one day/moment/thing at a time.” Focusing on what is happening right now is helping me stay sane. For the most part. :)

Tomorrow, finally, begin the guest posts by some of my talented friends and I’m excited to show them off. I am so thankful for their kindness and willingness to share content while my family and I try to get back to our new normal. I’ll still be popping in with posts now and again and hope to share updates on Instagram. I’m somewhat anxious to step away from this place I’ve built over the last few years but I know my family needs me right now. The mess will get cleaned, the chaos will die down and someday, we will settle back into a more regular pace. I’m definitely looking forward to that.

Thanks for stopping by this little space and thank you for your sweet messages. I am so thankful for you.
