King Score

This past April, I finally complained enough convinced MJ that a king size bed would be a good purchase. He’s over six feet tall, Love Bug is an occasional guest and often tries out new, hip sleeping positions (She is a fan of sleeping perpendicular to us, however, we are not.) and, at that time, I was using 82 pillows or so to help me and my pregnant belly sleep comfortably. There just wasn’t enough room. And with another bed buddy coming soon, we needed something different.

We searched. We tested. We decided. We bought.

Alas, I finally got my way got MJ to see the light and since arriving, we have been nothing but thrilled with the purchase. Comfort, support and SPACE!! Sometimes I wish the world would come to me so I could just stay in bed. The headboard needs adjusting, it needs a bedskirt and I’m rethinking wall art placement (more on that soon) but none of that affects the comfort of this sweet bed.

In order to save a few bucks, we chose to pick it up from the warehouse instead of paying for delivery and we didn’t buy a bed frame because at $110 I thought I could find something for half that or even less.

My search took some time. The bed just laid the floor while I searched and searched and searched for cheap bed frames. Craigslist, newspapers, garage sales. I had a few close calls too. On the Monday before the Tuesday Sweet J arrived, I had two frames I was vying for on Craigslist; one for $20 and one for $25. Of course, I went into labor and went to the hospital so by the time I returned home on Wednesday, both were gone. Boo.

I kept searching. And I was starting to get antsy. I thought about paying more than I wanted to just to get a bed frame already.

Then after our “not-a-very-fun-way-to-spend-money” weekend, I found another deal on Craigslist. I called the number immediately and left a message. Not two minutes later, someone called me back and said the bed frame was mine and I could pick it up the next day.

And how much was it??

F-R-E-E!!!!!!

Score one for me!

The frame was probably stored in a garage or storage so all I had to do was give it a rinse to clean it when I got it home. It was a breeze to put together and it is perfect.

Hello!

Thank you Sir Craig and your list.

Take care.
