This post is sponsored by Uncommon Goods, a place for unique gifts and creative design.

I like unique, different, interesting items, like the old, peeling metal ceiling tile on our wall, the rusted metal credenza our TV now sits on, the pallet shelves we made. I like collecting the unconventional. This desire for the unusual extends to my accessories too. I love perusing handmade jewelry boutiques and studios. I love the artistry, the innovation and that the items were made with real hands!! Uncommon Goods is an online store for the interesting and intriguing and as you’ll see, cool jewelry. Inspiring and casual accessories are mixed in with handmade and artisan pieces can be found on Uncommon Goods, made by real working artists. A series by artist Margaret Dorfman caught my eye. These vegetable blossom earrings are part of her line. They are made with real fresh fruit and vegetables that have been cured, pressed, aged and dried. Cool, right?

The vegetable blossom earrings are delicately beautiful. All the color variations and texture is authentic to the watermelon radish these earrings are made from.

The earrings make me feel like I have a bit of nature with me wherever I go. They are perfect for summertime but I am hoping I can use them to remember this season when the snow falls.

I have to admit, the beet parchment cuff is my favorite. Can you believe the gorgeous red color? I adore it. The artist of the fruit and vegetable parchment jewelry, Margaret Dorfman, stated that this cuff is made by hand with fresh locally grown beets that are transformed into translucent parchment-like sheets. Again, the texture and color is all natural to the loveliness of  the beet.

The vegetable parchment is then wrapped around a copper cuff and fused together. I have narrow wrists so these cuff types of bracelets work well for me. They stay in place instead of riding up to my elbow. And the color!! Ahh, I can’t get over it. So bold. So beautiful. So red!!
