Wooden Eggs, Part 1

Wooden Eggs | this heart of mine

Happy April!

I’m not much for Fool’s Day. Instead, I am loving on eggs. A few weeks ago, I visited a shop in St. Paul called Fox Glove Market and picked up these darling wooden eggs. I didn’t have a basket so I tucked them all in my scarf so I wouldn’t lose them. Felt a little like a mother hen. A really chic, stylish hen.

I used metallic paint and gold leaf to dress them up. Simple feels really good to me right now. Clean lines and simple designs with a delicate touch. Here’s Part 2, a lighter look for the eggs.

This one is my favorite. I thought I could achieve very clean straight lines with gold leaf and I did with the adhesive. However, the eggs really soaked up it up so I had to reapply and then I rushed to make it stick so the lines kind of blurred. But I love it.
