I love the flow of color change throughout the year and I find myself loving each season’s palette, especially at the onset. The bright, poppy colors of summer, the deeper tones of the fall and winter and now, the light and fresh colors of springtime. Sometimes I think I like one palette over another but then a new season starts and I can’t be sure. Along with those light tones, tis the season for eggs and adorable bunnies. To kick things off, I bring you a paper bunny basket and I dare you not to think one sweet word about it. I mean, it’s a basket that looks like a bunny! So cute, right?! My children were all over them, calling dibs to which ones they wanted. As it stands now, it appears Pipsqueak gets none but it’s alright because he didn’t really know what was happening anyway. I have plans to fill these little buggers with a few sweets treats and share them with the neighbors because I can’t keep the cuteness to ourselves.
Each bunny basket requires two sheets of card stock, one for the basket, one for the handle and two face options and the only tools you need are scissors, hot glue and your hands. It’s the perfect project for sitting on the couch, catching up on the DVR.
The color of the Easter grass really sets these bunnies off. I snagged these colorlicious varieties in the dollar section at Target.

-optional: ruler and scoring tool
Cut out all the parts. For the straps and triangle bunny faces, make sure to trim off all the lines.
On the basket portion, fold (or score and then fold) on the solid lines and cut on the dotted lines.
Arrange the three strips on each side, layering them with the outermost ones on top, followed by the middle one and the innermost strip third. Pull them together so they are almost touching.
Add a bit of glue.
Lay the triangle on the glue and hold everything in place.
Repeat on the other side.
Choose one of the bunny faces and glue it on top of the triangle. (You can use both, one on each side, if you want.)
Attach the straps by adding glue below the “attach here” line.
Stick it to the inside of the basket, lining up the diagonal line with the edge of the basket.
Repeat on until the straps on in place and you have yourself a bunny basket.
Stuff and give to your favorite bunnies!
