A Mini Book with Pinhole Press

Mini Book of Names & Faces | this heart of mine

This post is sponsored by Pinhole Press During my quasi break, we finished giving our belongings the KonMarie treatment. Most of our miscellaneous belongings, things we don’t need, are still packed up but it feels so much better now. Our things are better organized and the stuff we don’t need or want is gone. It… Read More

Getting the Drop on Bleach | this heart of mine

This site has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions, as always, are my own. #TotalBleachControl #CollectiveBias I’m not very good at doing laundry. I’m the kind of laundress who forgets loads in the washer for way too long, doesn’t pay particular attention to items that do better when taken out of… Read More

5 Things to Do On the First Day of Summer

5 Things to Do On a Birthday | this heart of mine

It’s the first day of summer! Hurray! It’s also Love Bug’s seventh birthday. I find it hard to believe I am the mother of a seven-year-old but seven she is. And today we are celebrating her. Pancakes and popcorn (her dinner of choice), cake and cupcake making, party prep and festivity frivolity. (All the first-letter matching was unintentional… Read More

16 🥳 My baby. ❤️ Life is going to be different fro 16 🥳 My baby. ❤️ Life is going to be different from now on. It’s a good different but things won’t ever be like they were. What I don’t think is covered well enough in birthing/ parenting classes is this “growing up and away” business. The marvelous new being we brought home all too quickly rightly becomes her own person. And it’s fantastic. The personality, the perspective, the humor, the growth. It’s such an honor to watch her life unfold day by day. But I can’t deny that part of me misses the baby that fit in my arms and I do feel grief for the milestones yet to come. Part of me wants to freeze time to prevent any more changes but every change is a new bright unfolding. So here I’ll stay. Watching, marveling and loving this beautiful creature. ❤️
Officially a teen. 🎉 Where does the time go. Seems Officially a teen. 🎉 Where does the time go. Seems like just yesterday that my sweet baby boy arrived, all squishy and snuggly. Now we stand nearly eye to eye and unfortunately, I don’t think I’m going to get any taller. I’m so proud of the person he is and I’m excited for all that is to come. So thankful to be his mom. Love him so. ❤️
