Baked Apples with Oatmeal and Brown Sugar

It’s fall, officially. Don’t let the heat confuse you. Apples are everywhere. I am reminded just how good in-season apples are compared to the other times of the year. Their scent is just intoxicating. So “fall”. I’ve always wanted to try stuffed apples and after a lengthy search, I found a recipe that was close… Read More

Erica From the Block

Or maybe it’s more, Erica with the blocks…. I’ll explain. This past Saturday, I got to spend most of the day “crafting” with a college friend who recently moved back to Minnesota with her husband. Erica was a basketball teammate of mine in college and even though we only played one year together (I was a… Read More

Caprese Salad

Summer’s veggies are piling up and I plan on over-dosing on tomatoes for the next little while. Fresh salsa, Bruschetta, Cheese & Tomato Galette, sliced tomatoes sprinkled with salt and this sweet number, the Caprese Salad. To-may-to, to-mah-to, they are all good to me. I wasn’t particularly familiar with the Caprese Salad until after attending a… Read More

Roasted Corn

I’m lovin’ roasting corn on the grill at the moment. It’s so easy and sooooooo good. With corn piling into grocery stores, it’s the perfect time to give this a try. How to Roast Corn 1. Soak the ears of corn, husk and all, for anywhere between 45 minutes to 2 hours. This wets the husks… Read More

Sidewalk Chalk Paint

The weather has been absolutely beautiful this week and we’ve taken full advantage. Bikes, beaches, parks, bubbles, ball sports and running around crazy-like just because we could without getting heat stroke. We’ve been busy but it’s fabulous. My favorite activity of the week is this: Covering the driveway in Sidewalk Chalk Paint. You’ve probably seen it… Read More

16 🥳 My baby. ❤️ Life is going to be different fro 16 🥳 My baby. ❤️ Life is going to be different from now on. It’s a good different but things won’t ever be like they were. What I don’t think is covered well enough in birthing/ parenting classes is this “growing up and away” business. The marvelous new being we brought home all too quickly rightly becomes her own person. And it’s fantastic. The personality, the perspective, the humor, the growth. It’s such an honor to watch her life unfold day by day. But I can’t deny that part of me misses the baby that fit in my arms and I do feel grief for the milestones yet to come. Part of me wants to freeze time to prevent any more changes but every change is a new bright unfolding. So here I’ll stay. Watching, marveling and loving this beautiful creature. ❤️
Officially a teen. 🎉 Where does the time go. Seems Officially a teen. 🎉 Where does the time go. Seems like just yesterday that my sweet baby boy arrived, all squishy and snuggly. Now we stand nearly eye to eye and unfortunately, I don’t think I’m going to get any taller. I’m so proud of the person he is and I’m excited for all that is to come. So thankful to be his mom. Love him so. ❤️
