Chocolate Bar Wraps for Boo-ing

Halloween Chocolate Bar Wraps | this heart of mine

We got ‘Boo-ed’ this week. Twice, actually. I didn’t know what getting ‘Boo-ed’ was, I mean, the Halloween version. If you haven’t heard of it, here’s the deal: friendly neighbors, under the dark of before-bedtime night, ring the doorbell and run, leaving a bag of sweets, a poem and a paper ghost. Halloween trickery indeed. The children were thrilled; candy is REALLY exciting. I was thrilled too. Living in a sweet neighborhood where we can do fun things like this is wonderful

While the children divided up the ‘boo-ed’ treats, I began thinking what our boo-ing treats would be. I wanted something beyond straight Halloween candy because the treats we had weren’t even holiday colors. Then I remembered a handful of candy bars in our sweet box (uneaten s’mores). With a little paper and lots of glue dots, the candy bars were dressed up for “boo-ing”.

There are lots of printable options out there but I wanted to do the real thing. I was able to do all these bars in about 30 minutes while also keeping Pipsqueak from stealing my scissors and feeding Sweet J, again.

Supplies:

-chocolate bars
-paper
-glue dots
-scissors

Stick with the simple features and details. For our ghosts, I just did eyes. For the black cats, black ears, noses and whiskers with cat eyes. Our pumpkins don’t look like the regular jack-o-lanterns. Bug and J have a different view on how they should look and I like their ideas. Haha!

Glue dots make this project so simple. No messy fingers. No waiting for the glue to dry. Just stick ’em on and you’re done.

‘Boo-ing’ the neighbors was so fun, too. Bug and J giggled throughout and thought it was a blast. J wants to do the whole neighborhood, every night. Probably not going to happen but I’m happy to add this to our yearly tradition.

Thanks to Seattle Chocolates for their darling chocolate bars! Couldn’t wrap them because they are already so cute and festive.
