I have deep adoration for quotes; I’ve been collecting them since middle school. They, in all their versions – typed and printed sheets, magazine tears, cards, daily calendar pages – reside in a couple of 3-ring binders I have tucked away. I don’t add much to them anymore because I’m busy pinning and my Pinterest board for quotes is overflowing. The funny thing is my mom collects quotes as well and has since she was very young. I remember us discovering our similarity when I still lived at home. I think I was describing my collection to her – the stacks of quotes, the three-ring binder and all the plastic page protectors (nerd alert) – and I remember my mom getting her collection to show me. Hers is a worn spiral notebook filled with her tight cursive writing, some quotes I recognized and so many more were copied down for my collection. It was a special moment for me. I thought my mom was so cool and it turns out, I was on track to be kinda cool, too.
This love of quotes lends itself to a love of quote prints as well. (Turns out, in addition to quote-nerdery, I am also nerdy about fonts and graphic design). I actually have a whole stack of prints and canvases I collected to hang in the children’s toy room. If I could just decide how I want it laid out I would get it done. Ugh. Decisions, decisions.
