Recipe: Lemon Cake with Vanilla Whipped Cream

I had a craving for lemon cake the other night and I couldn’t ignore it. We were walking through the grocery store, all of us, and it hit me. Someday, I would really love an explanation on cravings. Was it the warmer weather that had me craving something fresh tasting? Was it that the exertion… Read More

Recipe: Cinnamon Coffee Cake

If you haven’t heard it on the television or radio or read it somewhere yet, here’s the news – Mother’s Day is on Sunday. I’m cluing you in because moms are a big deal. I’m not just saying that because I am a harried, in need of a break mother of two. Each and everyone… Read More

Recipe: The Only Guacamole Recipe You Will Ever Need

In the past five days, MJ and I have eaten three batches of guacamole between the two of us. We.Can’t.Stop. And we can’t stop talking about how great it tastes. It started during a grocery store run over the weekend, the display promoting homemade guacamole for Cinco de Mayo caught my eye. I saw the… Read More

Chewy Fudgy Brownies

I spent a good amount of time last week lamenting the insane weather we had. Snow, inches and inches of it, thick, heavy and wet, fell and turned our world white once again. I heard a report it was falling about an inch per hour and as you can tell, it snowed for hours. Even… Read More

Recipe: Arugula Salad with Beets, Carrots and Homemade Dressing

Arugula. An audacious vegetable. A vegetable that brings out indubitable opinions. Up until very recently, I would have put myself in the not-really-a-fan side. Arugula is a peppery, bold tasting green that, to be honest, looks like a weed. Like something that could grow in the yard on accident. :) I wouldn’t have tried arugula… Read More

16 🥳 My baby. ❤️ Life is going to be different fro 16 🥳 My baby. ❤️ Life is going to be different from now on. It’s a good different but things won’t ever be like they were. What I don’t think is covered well enough in birthing/ parenting classes is this “growing up and away” business. The marvelous new being we brought home all too quickly rightly becomes her own person. And it’s fantastic. The personality, the perspective, the humor, the growth. It’s such an honor to watch her life unfold day by day. But I can’t deny that part of me misses the baby that fit in my arms and I do feel grief for the milestones yet to come. Part of me wants to freeze time to prevent any more changes but every change is a new bright unfolding. So here I’ll stay. Watching, marveling and loving this beautiful creature. ❤️
Officially a teen. 🎉 Where does the time go. Seems Officially a teen. 🎉 Where does the time go. Seems like just yesterday that my sweet baby boy arrived, all squishy and snuggly. Now we stand nearly eye to eye and unfortunately, I don’t think I’m going to get any taller. I’m so proud of the person he is and I’m excited for all that is to come. So thankful to be his mom. Love him so. ❤️
