Homemade for the Holidays: Brie en Croute

For Day 3, please welcome Amy from Chew Out Loud. I love the variety of recipes from Amy’s site. It’s filled with recognizable things but with a little twist and additions like sweet potatos or smoked bacon or garlic butter. I like her suggestions on sneaking extra veggies into her dishes too. On my short… Read More

Decoration Woes

This is what our tree looks like this afternoon. We did decorate it. The children helped and enjoyed hanging the ornaments on the tree. But then the next day came and Sweet J couldn’t help himself. 16 🥳 My baby. ❤️ Life is going to be different fro 16 🥳 My baby. ❤️ Life is going to be different from now on. It’s a good different but things won’t ever be like they were. What I don’t think is covered well enough in birthing/ parenting classes is this “growing up and away” business. The marvelous new being we brought home all too quickly rightly becomes her own person. And it’s fantastic. The personality, the perspective, the humor, the growth. It’s such an honor to watch her life unfold day by day. But I can’t deny that part of me misses the baby that fit in my arms and I do feel grief for the milestones yet to come. Part of me wants to freeze time to prevent any more changes but every change is a new bright unfolding. So here I’ll stay. Watching, marveling and loving this beautiful creature. ❤️
Officially a teen. 🎉 Where does the time go. Seems Officially a teen. 🎉 Where does the time go. Seems like just yesterday that my sweet baby boy arrived, all squishy and snuggly. Now we stand nearly eye to eye and unfortunately, I don’t think I’m going to get any taller. I’m so proud of the person he is and I’m excited for all that is to come. So thankful to be his mom. Love him so. ❤️
